Our History

Established in 1960, we are the oldest, most experienced but most
modern, up to date pet care facility in Indiana County. Connie Winters as a teenager opened the kennel in a small building
on the family farm. After graduating from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) with a degree in biology, she expanded
her business with the original part of our current building. Connie has been active as a charter member of the Pet
Care Service Association, local Humane Groups, over 30 years as a 4-H leader and many other organizations. She has continued
to work throughout the years to set very high standards of care and ongoing modernization of the facilities for
the benefit of all clients and pets.
Our staff is made up of individuals who have a great love of animals
and who have displayed a strong continued interest in animal care. All of our staff are trained and tested continually using
in house mentors and the PSCA testing programs to assure the best care of your pet.
Connie also
owns and manages Winterfield Farms, Inc., a horse farm dedicated to teaching riding lessons and training hunter and jumper
horses. Visit the farm web site at www.winterfieldfarms.net.
